Remoulade selber machen - besser als gekauft

Servus everyone, welcome to a new episode of “Die Sagen Will Ich”. Today, I am in the beautiful city of Salzburg as a tenant. Waiting outside on the balcony, admiring the view of the city, I can’t help but feel grateful for this opportunity. But enough about that, let’s get back to why we’re all here – the food!

In today’s episode, I’ll be showing you how to make a delicious homemade remoulade that pairs perfectly with roast beef, but can also be used as a sauce for other dishes like boiled beef, fish, or shellfish. Some fresh herbs like dill and parsley, garlic, onions, capers, yogurt, and crème fraîche will give the remoulade a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. And of course, we’ll need some salt and pepper to taste.

Before we get started with the recipe, make sure to check out the video above where I show you the amazing view of Salzburg from the balcony. And if you want to try out the recipe for yourself, be sure to check out the link above to the video where I demonstrate the entire process of making the remoulade.

First, we’ll need to make the mayonnaise, which is the base for the remoulade. In a tall container, I’ll be adding eggs, oil (instead of vinegar), salt, pepper, mustard, and a splash of lemon juice. Using a blender, I’ll blend it all together until it becomes thick and creamy.

Once the mayonnaise is ready, I’ll add some fresh herbs like dill and parsley, chopped garlic, onions, capers, yogurt, and crème fraîche. Mixing everything together, I’ll add sugar to balance out the acidity and seasoning it with salt and pepper.

The homemade remoulade is perfect for any occasion and can be used as a dip or sauce for various dishes. Trust me, making your own remoulade is well worth the effort, and it tastes absolutely delicious!
