Today we’re talking about something very special that you’ve probably already noticed - that broccoli is probably now your parents’ favorite vegetable, and the other half is likely to grant you mental clarity. I remember in 2009-2010 when broccoli was one of my top three favorite veggies, and that’s because it tastes amazing. I understand that many of you may not have warmed up to the taste yet, but today I’ll show you a few recipes I’ve learned over my time as a student and YouTube cook that will bring you closer to loving broccoli’s flavor. What you may not know is that this veggie is fantastic for you; it’s a vitamin powerhouse, containing vitamin C, iron, calcium, potassium, while being low in fat and carbs. Broccoli even has antioxidant properties, making it great for preventing cancer and Alzheimer’s. It’s also good for your nervous system.
Let me show you some recipes that will transform your broccoli experience. First, let’s make Asian-style broccoli tofu. It’s super easy and delicious. We’ll need broccoli, sesame oil, onions, quark cheese, soy sauce, chicken broth, pepper, and sesame seeds. We’ll briefly cook the broccoli and onion together, and then add the other ingredients. You can also substitute chicken instead of tofu if you’d like.
Next, we have broccoli and salmon gratin, perfect for those who love fish. We’ll need broccoli, salmon, heavy cream, and cheese. We’ll prepare the ingredients together in a pot, pour the mixture into a baking dish, and bake it in the oven for 20 minutes. Add cheese on top of the dish before putting it in the oven.
Third on the list is broccoli pesto. For this recipe, we’ll need broccoli, olive oil, chicken broth, Parmesan cheese, almonds, garlic, balsamic vinegar, pepper, salt, and basil. We’ll blend all the ingredients together, and voila! We have a tasty, healthy pesto.
Fourth on the list is our roasted broccoli snack. All you need is broccoli, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and any spice of your choice. Throw it all in the oven at 180°C for 15 minutes, and you’re good to go. It’s a great snack for those of you trying to stick to a healthy diet.
Lastly, I’m thinking about starting a fitness transformation series. Would you be interested in following along? I’m planning on documenting my journey and sharing it with you all. Let me know what you think in the comments!
In conclusion, broccoli is a tasty and incredibly healthy vegetable that you can incorporate into your diet in many different ways. From roasted snacks to gratins and more, there’s a recipe for everyone. Thanks for reading, and I hope you’ll try out some of these recipes for yourself!
