5 schnelle Pesto Rezepte // Tipps und Tricks mit Pesto Genovese / Sallys Welt

Hello Mr. Sallys Welt, today I would like to show you how versatile pesto can be. You can of course make your own pesto, there is already a recipe on my blog. But if you say you don’t have time or don’t have fresh basil on your terrace, we can also use ready-made pesto. I always like to use the one from Barilla, which is made with real ingredients and is perfect for cooking. And, we don’t just use it for pasta, today I will show you five different ways to use pesto.

First, let’s start with pesto focaccia. For the dough, I use a half cube of yeast, one tablespoon of sugar, one teaspoon of salt, 315 milliliters of water, 500 grams of flour, four tablespoons of olive oil, and of course, my pesto. First, I dissolve the yeast, sugar, and water in a bowl. Then, I add the salt and some of the flour and knead the dough. After that, I add the olive oil and the remaining flour and knead until the dough is soft and smooth. I leave it to rise for two hours, then roll it out into a rectangle and spread on the pesto. Then, I cut the dough into strips and lay them in a cake form. I fold the dough like an accordion and let it rise for another half an hour. Then, I bake it in a preheated oven at 190 degrees Celsius for about 25 minutes. The result is a delicious and fluffy pesto focaccia.

Next, I show you how to make a pesto dip. For this, I mix fresh cream cheese with natural yogurt and some pesto. You can use the dip for vegetable sticks or breadsticks, or as a side for grilling. The pesto gives the dip a fresh and zesty taste.

For a light summer dinner, I prepare a salad with baked chicken breast and pesto dressing. First, I fry the chicken breast in olive oil and add pesto for extra flavor. Then, I mix chopped bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and a yogurt dressing with some pesto. The result is a colorful and healthy salad with a delicious pesto taste.

Last but not least, I make a pesto sandwich in a toaster. I use wholemeal toast, tomato slices, mozzarella, and pesto. I spread the pesto on both slices of bread and put tomato and mozzarella between them. Then, I brush the outside with olive oil and toast it in a sandwich maker until it’s crispy and golden.

In conclusion, pesto is not only for pasta. It’s a versatile ingredient that can be used in many different dishes. With these five recipes, you can add a touch of creativity and flavor to your dishes with pesto.
