Kevin loves to make caipirinhas and it happens to be my favorite cocktail as well. It is a super simple drink that only requires a glass and about half to three-quarters of a lime. We will need some sugar to add sweetness to the drink. Depending on how sweet you like your drink, add about two to three tablespoons of sugar. Once that is done, crush the lime in the glass with the sugar, making sure that the juices mix well.

Next, add a shot of cachaca, which is a Brazilian spirit made from sugarcane juice. If you don’t have cachaca, you can use either vodka or rum as substitutes. The next ingredient to add is ice. Make sure to add enough ice and then give the drink a good stir. Finally, top it off with a little more ice and garnish with a slice of lime.

In Germany, we also use a variety of fruits to make delicious cocktails known as “bowlen.” It’s similar to the American “punch,” but with a twist. We use a wide variety of fruits, mix them with wine or champagne, and add fruit juice to our liking. We then let it sit overnight to allow the flavors to blend well. It’s perfect for parties or a summer barbecue.
