Lebkuchenhaus selber machen - Schritt für Schritt
In this video, I will show you step by step how to make this and this gingerbread house yourself. You don’t need any special kitchen appliances or cookie cutters, I will guide you through the dough, cutting the pieces, and decorating with both a simple and even simpler version. You can decide which one is right for you, so let’s get started.
We begin by making the dough. For the simple version, you’ll need 500g of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 100g of sugar, 2 tablespoons of gingerbread spice, 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 200g of honey, and 2 eggs. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl, create a well in the center, and add the honey and eggs. Mix everything together and knead for a few minutes until the dough is smooth.
For the even simpler version, you can buy pre-made dough, which usually comes with a template you can use. Roll out the dough to about 5mm thickness and cut out the pieces for the house. You can either make your own template or find one online. Place the pieces on a baking sheet and bake at 180C for 15 minutes.
While the dough is baking, mix one egg white and 200g of powdered sugar to make the glue or icing for the house. Beat the egg white until stiff, add the powdered sugar, and mix for an additional 5-10 minutes until the icing is thick and smooth.
Once the dough is done, let it cool down before assembly. For the simple version, glue the sides and roof of the house using the icing. Hold each piece in place for 30 seconds so that it can set. Decorate the house with more icing and candies or other sweets, as desired.
For the even simpler version, glue the sides together like a box and use candies or other treats to create a festive look. This version is ideal for younger children or anyone who wants to have some fun without the hassle of cutting out individual pieces.
Overall, making your own gingerbread house is a fun and creative way to spend time with family and friends. With just a few ingredients and some imagination, you can make a beautiful and delicious decoration for the holidays. So don’t be afraid to try it out and see what works best for you.
