In this article, I will give a detailed recipe on how to make this delightful cake and what ingredients you need to prepare it.

To start with, you will need a 26cm springform for the cake and a shortcrust pastry for the base. Here is how to make the pastry base – you will need 150g of flour, 75g of sugar, 75g of butter, one egg, a teaspoon of baking powder, and a small packet of vanilla sugar. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl until they form a smooth dough. Put the dough in the fridge for half an hour while you prepare the filling and crumble topping.

For the crumble topping, you will need 100g of sugar, 150g of flour, and 75g of butter. Try to keep the butter as cold as possible as you will need to rub it into the flour and sugar mixture until it forms coarse crumbs. Leave the crumble mixture to chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

For the filling, you will need half a liter of milk, 60g of sugar, two packets of vanilla pudding powder, and 500g of poppy seeds. Heat the milk in a pot and dissolve the sugar in it. Add the pudding powder and mix well until it starts to boil. Reduce the heat and add the poppy seeds to the pudding mixture, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.

Once the filling is ready, remove the pastry dough from the fridge and roll it out to fit the springform base. Then, use the remaining dough to make a rim around the edge of the cake.
