“Heute back mir zusammen und zwar was ganz besonderes” - Cooking with Men on My Channel
Hello, everyone! I welcome you to a new week of cooking with men on my channel. By the way, this is my mom’s webcam, but she doesn’t want to be seen, so at least say hello.
The children from the Ark are here playing with their cars, and today, we will be baking something very special - Vanillekipferl. These cookies are no joke, folks, they are the best in the whole world. My mom only bakes one recipe every year, and these Vanillekipferl are it. The whole family always looks forward to these cookies because they are simply the best. My mom got the recipe from her own mother, and they definitely taste fantastic.
Unfortunately, I have to shoot this video when my mom isn’t here, and there is a reason for that. I can’t seem to roll them properly, so I’ll have to knead them for the day. Today, things will be a bit freaky, and different from our usual videos, but we will have fun nonetheless. And at the end, I will show them to you.
If there are any beginners out there, you will need a baking sheet with a Vanillekipferl mold. Now, let’s begin by taking our ingredients - 250g of flour, 200g of butter, 100g of sugar, a packet of vanilla sugar, and 100g of nuts. It’s easy, all you need to do is put everything into a bowl and mix it with your hands.
The dough is ready and is so soft, thanks to the butter. Don’t worry about it not being healthy, we won’t be eating the dough. Now, mom would normally knead the dough on a flat surface, but I like to do it in the bowl because it’s more direct.
Mom now rolls out the dough into a sausage shape, and then cuts them into tiny pieces. Each piece will be a Vanillekipferl. We’ve practised this together, so I get some of them right.
We now form the dough into small balls and shape them into a crescent. Be careful not to make them too thin, or they will break. We place them on the baking tray and put them into the oven at 120 degrees Celsius, fan-forced, for 35-40 minutes.
When they come out of the oven, dust them immediately with powdered sugar. Our cookies are ready, and they smell amazing. We can’t wait to enjoy them. My day has produced two trays, and when they are cooled, you can put them into a container, where they will last for up to three weeks.
I hope you enjoyed my recipe, the video today was a bit impromptu, but I hope you still enjoyed it. Please comment below if you try it out, and have a great week!
