Helmut, it’s great to see you back on the community! Today, we have a special community request for the recipe for creamy salmon pasta with 1000 hearts. I have just the recipe for that, and it only requires five ingredients. But before we dive into the recipe, let me introduce myself. My name is Studieren, and I’m a huge fan of fish dishes, especially salmon.
To make this dish, we’ll need 200 grams of spaghetti or fettuccine, 100 grams of Parmesan cheese, 100 ml of whipping cream, a handful of fresh parsley, one chopped shallot, and a nice piece of hot-smoked salmon. Hot-smoked salmon is different from cold-smoked salmon, which is usually found in the supermarket’s refrigerated section. Hot-smoked salmon is cooked, and it has a unique flavor that works well in this recipe.
To prepare the pasta, bring a pot of water to a boil, and add a generous amount of salt. Cook the pasta until it is al dente, which is usually a couple of minutes less than the recommended cooking time on the package. While the pasta is cooking, sauté the shallot in butter over medium heat until it is translucent. Add the whipping cream to the pan and bring it to a boil. Then, lower the heat and let it simmer for a few minutes until it thickens.
Grate the Parmesan cheese and add it to the cream sauce. Stir until it is melted and combined. Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining the pasta. Add the pasta to the cream sauce and toss until the pasta is coated with the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a little bit of pasta water to thin it out.
Now it’s time to add the star of the dish, the hot-smoked salmon. Flake the salmon into bite-sized pieces and stir it into the pasta. Add a generous amount of freshly chopped parsley and stir to combine. Serve with a garnish of Parmesan cheese and enjoy!
