Burek/Pite/Pita/Börek selber machen…. Megalecker 🤤

The i Miev kühlen welt welcomes you all to a special episode! Today, we are going to make something incredibly delicious - Albanian burek, or as Turks know it, barrick. It’s a dish that everyone loves, and it’s made with only a few ingredients. We’ll show you how to make it step by step, so let’s get started!

First off, for the dough, we need only three ingredients - flour, warm water, and salt. And for the filling, we’ll make a cheese filling using Turkish white cheese, feta cheese, and Danish queen fresh cheese. We’ll also add eggs and a little bit of oil to it. Don’t forget the salt, but don’t add too much since the cheese is already salty.

Let’s begin by mixing the dough. We add salt to the flour and then gradually add warm water while kneading it with our hands until a smooth and elastic dough is formed. We can also use a kitchen machine to do this, but hand kneading gives better results.

Once the dough is ready, we divide it into eight equal pieces and form them into balls which we let rest for 20 minutes under a piece of plastic wrap. Meanwhile, we prepare the cheese filling by mixing the cheeses, eggs, and a little bit of salt and oil.

After the dough balls have rested, we roll them out thinly with a rolling pin and shape them into a rectangular sheet. We then add the cheese filling and fold the dough over it, making sure to seal the edges.

Finally, we brush the top with a little bit of oil and bake them in the oven at 250 degrees Celsius for 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy.

And that’s it, our Albanian burek is ready to be served! It’s a delicious and filling snack or meal that’s perfect for any occasion. The best part is that it’s easy to make and can be customized to your liking by adding different fillings such as spinach, meat or pumpkin.

So, if you’re looking for a simple yet tasty dish to impress your friends and family, give Albanian burek a try! Trust us, it’s guaranteed to be a hit.
