Sometimes it can make us happy or nostalgic, while at other times it can make us feel sad or angry. In this video, I am going to show you how to bake Fladenbrot while we groove to some good music.
For those of you who don’t know me, I am Juli, and I’m back with another Fladenbrot recipe. Many of you have complained about the music in my previous videos. I admit that those videos were done when I didn’t have much knowledge about editing and sound settings. But your feedback is valuable to me, and I have taken your suggestions seriously. That’s why I have decided to re-shoot this video, with a few tweaks in the recipe and some new music.
The recipe requires the following ingredients: flour, water, oil, fresh or dry yeast, yogurt, salt, and a pinch of sugar. The exact measurements are mentioned in the description below. The first step is to make the dough, with the help of warm water and yeast. It is essential to ensure that the water is only warm and not too hot. After mixing the wet ingredients, add the dry ingredients and knead for five to seven minutes until you get the desired texture.
If you encounter trouble while kneading the dough, add salt and oil just before finishing the kneading process. However, be careful not to over-knead the dough, and add the remaining water, if required, to make it more pliable. After kneading, let the dough rest for at least an hour or until it has risen and doubled in size.
While waiting for the dough to rise, we will prepare a mixture to apply on top of the bread. This mixture will give the bread a crunchy crust, and I learned it from one of my subscribers. To make the mixture, heat water and flour in a pan until it becomes a thick paste. After cooling, apply it generously on top of the bread before baking.
After dividing the dough into two, shape each piece into a ball, and let them rest for half an hour. During this time, preheat the oven to 250 degrees Celsius. Before baking, apply the paste mixture, sesame seeds, and black cumin seeds on top of the bread. Finally, bake the bread for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
