Hummus selber machen | Als Dip, Brotaufstrich oder Beilage | gesunder Snack für zwischendurch

Hey guys and welcome back to another episode. Today, I will show you how to make hummus at home. This episode will be shorter than usual, as it is super quick and easy to make. You only need a few ingredients, and I will show you everything you need to know.

Hummus is a popular Middle Eastern dip that is typically served with pita bread, vegetables or as a spread on sandwiches. It is made using chickpeas, which are rich in vitamins and protein, making it a healthy choice for vegans and athletes. You can find hummus in Lebanese restaurants, and it is also easy to make at home.

To make hummus, you will need a can of chickpeas, around 280 grams after draining. You will also need two tablespoons of tahini (sesame paste), two garlic cloves, a bit of fresh lemon juice for acidity, and some olive oil to make it smooth. Tahini can be found in Turkish supermarkets or larger grocery stores. If you are not a fan of garlic, you can use only one clove, or skip it altogether.

To make the hummus, simply add the chickpeas to a container and sprinkle some lemon juice on it. Then, add around two to three tablespoons of olive oil and two tablespoons of tahini. You can add more or less, depending on your taste. Next, add the garlic, freshly squeezed lemon juice, cumin, cayenne pepper, and paprika. If you only have one of these spices, it is okay to skip the others.

Use a blender or stick blender to blend all the ingredients until it is smooth. If the hummus is too thick, add a bit of water or more olive oil to make it smoother. Taste the hummus and add salt or more lemon juice as needed. You can also add more spices, such as curry powder or other herbs, depending on your taste.

Hummus is an excellent snack or spread that you can easily make at home. It is fresher and healthier than store-bought hummus, and you can customize it to your liking.
