Guacamole selber machen | Rezept fĂĽr frischen Avocado-Dip mit Limette und saftiger Tomate | EDEKA

Today, we are making guacamole at EDEKA. It’s really easy to make and tastes amazing. But what do we need for a truly delicious guacamole? Ripe avocados, of course. Did you know that our EDEKA avocados now stay fresh for longer and therefore remain tasty for longer too? You’re probably wondering how this works.

It works with a protective layer based on plant material, called Apeel. This is composed of lipids and glycerolipids. These lipids or fats are present in many seeds, husks, flesh of many fruits and vegetables. Apeel is a protective layer made of plant material applied to the avocados to protect them. As a result, they lose less water and less oxygen penetrates from the outside, keeping them fresh for longer. EDEKA now has more time to provide you with avocados, and you have more time to enjoy them. This means fewer of these delicious fruits are thrown away. If you want to know more about Apeel, click on the link above. But first, let’s make some guacamole.

First, cut the avocado in half along the core. With a twist, remove the core, but don’t throw it away just yet. I will show you a trick later. Then, you can already cut the flesh in the shell so you can easily blend it later. For those trendy avocado kernels that many plant, I have not had success. If you have a trick that works, please let me know in the comments. Next, cut around the skin to remove it.

As always, you will find the link to the recipe in the video description. Now we’ll squeeze the lime juice. Remember to roll the lime first to burst the small chambers inside and make the juice come out easier. We’ll add two tablespoons, which is about one lime. This adds a little acidity to the guacamole, giving it great taste. Then, many of us love a little garlic in our guacamole. Peel the garlic and add it to the mix. We’ll pulse it quickly in the gallery. I always like to add a little chili powder or fresh chili if I want it spicier. If you like a chunkier guacamole, just mash it with a fork. I like mine smooth and creamy so I thoroughly blend it.

Next, add a tomato and some cilantro, which to me is the unbeatable combination. If you ask ten people for their guacamole recipe, you will get ten different answers. That’s why you should add whatever you like and be creative. Some people prefer parsley or chervil instead of cilantro, it’s all up to you. The tomato I added is not particularly watery, and there is still juice. If you feel that is too juicy and may dilute your guacamole, remove some of the flesh. Now, that’s it! Guacamole goes well with so many dishes, such as meat or vegetables, or just like today with tortilla chips- nice and spicy! I don’t know why adding avocado seeds helped keep the guacamole green, but it works. If you know why, please let me know in the comments. Enjoy your guacamole, be creative and until the next time.
