To start, we will need 200 grams of maize flour and 100 grams of wheat flour. Add them through a sieve into a mixing bowl. Then add 1 teaspoon of salt and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Pour in some hot water and start kneading the mixture using your hands. If the dough seems too dry, pour in another sip of hot water and continue kneading until the dough is smooth and has the consistency of modeling clay.

The dough should not be sticky but not too tight. Place the dough onto the working top and form it into a square shape. Cut the dough into 10 equal sized pieces, or use a kitchen balance to weigh out pieces of about 50 grams. Briefly knead every dough piece and form small dough balls by rolling the dough pieces between your palms.

Dust the working top with some maize flour and give a dough ball onto the floured surface. Slightly flatten and flour from both sides, then roll out using a rolling pin until thin and flat.
