EINFACHES REZEPT: Fruchtige Tomatensuppe mit 5 Zutaten

In the last week, you asked me twice to make tomato soup, and you wanted to know what I do to make it so deliciously fruity. I will tell you everything in this video. If you have any ideas for what to cook on the channel in the future, feel free to post them in the comments below. Someday, your suggestion will be included in the poll, which you can participate in right now to decide what’s next. But for now, let’s talk about the ingredients for the tomato soup. We only need five ingredients, making it a simple recipe that tastes especially good.

We will need 150 milliliters of tomato juice, 200 milliliters of whipped cream, 50 grams of butter, a bit of fresh basil, and either fresh tomatoes or canned tomatoes. Surprisingly, I prefer canned tomatoes because they are harvested when they are fully ripe, unlike the tomatoes we usually find in the supermarket, which are harvested long before they are ripe and allowed to ripen during transport. If you are in Italy or Spain and can get tomatoes directly from a local farm, of course, use fresh tomatoes. Generally, canned tomatoes have a much fuller, fruitier flavor than fresh tomatoes, so I’m using canned tomatoes for this recipe.

To make the soup, I pour the tomato juice into the pot and add peeled and deseeded fresh tomatoes. If you are using canned tomatoes, just add them to the tomato juice. Then, I allow it to boil on medium heat, stirring occasionally, and reduce the heat for 30 minutes. Once it’s boiled for 30 minutes, I turn off the heat and add fresh basil. If you don’t have fresh basil, you can use dried basil, although the aroma won’t be as intense. I mix everything with a hand blender until it’s smooth but still chunky.

Then, I turn back on the heat and add the whipped cream and butter, stirring them until the butter is melted. I add salt and pepper to taste and let it simmer until it’s ready to serve. The whipped cream gives the soup a nice creamy texture, and the butter adds richness and flavor. If the soup is too thick, you can add some water to thin it out.

The soup is now done and ready to serve. It’s hot but deliciously fruity, and you can add some tomato paste for a more fruity flavor.
