[Music] Hello and welcome back! As you can see, I have something new in my kitchen – a brand new air fryer! I have always wanted a good air fryer, but I felt that the ones I had seen before were too small for my needs, so I decided to go for a bigger one. Before purchasing this fryer, I spent a long time thinking about whether I really needed it, and maybe some of you are also debating on whether to get one or not.
Initially, I decided to buy a cheap one on eBay to test the waters and see if I would use it regularly. However, as time moved on, I realized that I couldn’t imagine my life without it. This Pro Select II 22 air fryer, in particular, stands out from the rest due to its accompanying app, which allows me to see how much time is remaining and adjust the temperature as needed.
Although there is a recipe book included with the fryer, it is written in English. Nonetheless, I find that most people can speak English nowadays, and there are plenty of translation apps to help if needed. That being said, if my voice wasn’t off today due to my sore throat, I would have shared with you a recipe from the book. I will pass, but I’ll show you what this air fryer can do, as I often get asked this question by many of you.
When you turn on the air fryer, the whole display lights up. On the top left is the temperature dial, which can be adjusted in increments of five degrees. On the right, there is the time dial, which can be modified in minute increments. In the center, there’s a start button, and there are several pre-programmed settings for various meals, such as fries, muffins, pizza, and even meats and fish. While these pre-programmed settings are convenient, they are also customizable to your liking.
The recipe book included with the fryer has some fantastic ideas, but as a vegan, I didn’t find much use for the meat and fish recipes. However, I stumbled upon a recipe for ginger blueberry scones, which I found quite enjoyable. Although the recipe was written with standard American measurements, I converted it to metric measurements to make it easier for me to follow.
I first combined flour, baking powder, and sugar; then, I added six tablespoons of butter and mixed the ingredients by hand until I got a crumbly mixture. I added blueberries and grated ginger to the mixture next. Then, I mixed together mashed banana and vegan cream, which I’d made from cashews and vanilla extract. After I’d mixed everything together, I put the mixture into the air fryer and set it to cook.
Apart from baking scones, you can do so much more with an air fryer! For instance, you can cook porridge, kichererbsen, vegetables, and many other snacks. Furthermore, kichererbsen cooked in an air fryer tastes so much better than when cooked in an oven.
In conclusion, an air fryer is a helpful tool to have in the kitchen. Even though it wasn’t cheap, it’s a fantastic investment since I’ll be using it regularly. Between its user-friendly app, customizable pre-programmed cooking settings, and ease of use, what’s not to love?
