Apfelstrudel mit Vanille-Zimt-Sahne

Let’s start off with a classic - Apfelstrudel mit Vanille-Zimt-Sahne. Just looking at this picture is making me drool.

Apfelstrudel mit Vanille-Zimt-SahneThis dessert is the perfect combination of sweet and spicy with a creamy vanilla twist. To make it, you’ll need:

  • 1 package of phyllo pastry
  • 1/2 cup of almonds
  • 3 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup of raisins
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

First, preheat your oven to 375°F. In a bowl, mix together the almonds, apples, raisins, cinnamon, and sugar.

Melt the butter in a pot and then brush it onto the phyllo pastry sheets. Layer the sheets on top of each other, making sure to brush butter in between each layer.

Next, pour the apple mixture onto the phyllo pastry and roll it up tightly. Brush more butter on top and then bake for 30-35 minutes.

While the strudel is baking, mix together the heavy cream and vanilla extract until it reaches a whipped cream consistency. Sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon on top for extra flavour.

Once the strudel is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with a dollop of the Vanille-Zimt-Sahne on top.
