Hey y’all, today we gonna talk about one of my all time favorite dishes - lasagne. And let me tell you, when it comes to lasagne, there ain’t no room for messing around. It’s gotta be rich, it’s gotta be flavorful, and it’s gotta be the perfect balance of cheese, sauce, and noodles.

Classic Lasagne Recipe

First up, we got a classic lasagne recipe that will knock your socks off. Here’s what you gonna need:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) spaghetti sauce
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp. dried basil leaves
  • 1 tsp. fennel seed
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 12 lasagne noodles, cooked and drained

Now, let’s get to cooking this bad boy.

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
  2. Stir in spaghetti sauce, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, water, basil, fennel, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine 2 cups mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  6. Spread about 1 cup meat sauce in an ungreased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  7. Layer with three noodles, 1 1/2 cups meat sauce, and 1 cup cheese mixture.
  8. Repeat layers twice.
  9. Top with remaining noodles and meat sauce.
  10. Cover and bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Uncover; sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  12. Bake 20-25 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.

Veggie Lasagne Recipe

For all you Veggie lovers out there, we got a delicious Veggie Lasagne recipe just for you. Here’s what you gonna need:

Ingredients

  • 1 eggplant
  • 3 zucchini
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) spaghetti sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 9 lasagne noodles, cooked and drained

Now, let’s get to cooking this delicious Veggie Lasagne.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Peel eggplant and cut into thin slices. Cut zucchini lengthwise into thin slices.
  3. In 12-inch skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Cook onion and garlic in oil until onion is tender.
  4. Add spaghetti sauce, diced tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered until slightly thickened, about 20 minutes.
  5. In large bowl, mix ricotta cheese, 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese, the egg and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Spoon 1/2 cup of the sauce into ungreased 13x9-inch baking dish. Top with 3 cooked lasagna noodles, 1/2 of the ricotta cheese mixture, 1/3 of the eggplant and zucchini, and 1 cup of the sauce.
  7. Repeat layers with 3 noodles, the remaining ricotta cheese mixture, 1/3 of the eggplant and zucchini, and 1 cup of the sauce. Top with remaining 3 noodles, remaining sauce, and remaining mozzarella cheese.
  8. Cover with foil; bake 25 minutes. Remove foil; bake about 25 minutes longer or until hot and bubbly. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.

  5. In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of the meat and sauce mixture. Add a layer of zucchini slices on top of the meat.
  6. Add a layer of spinach on top of the zucchini.
  7. Spoon a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture over the spinach.
  8. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used up, ending with a layer of the meat and sauce mixture on top. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly.
