“Mehlknepp Pfälzerart”, Mehlknödel, Mehlklöße mit Specksahnesoße
Ingredients:
- 250g flour
- 1 egg
- 150ml milk
- 100g bacon, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 150ml beef broth
- 150ml heavy cream
- 1 tbsp flour
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, egg, milk, salt, and pepper until a dough forms. Form the dough into small balls and set aside.
- In a large pan, fry the bacon and onion until crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, whisk together the beef broth, heavy cream, and flour over medium heat. Cook until the sauce thickens.
- Add the bacon and onion to the sauce.
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer. Add the Mehlklöße to the water and let them cook for about 20 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
- Remove the Mehlklöße from the water and add them to the sauce. Serve hot!
